Murder of Katherine Janness

On July 28, 2021, at approximately 1:10a.m, Katie Janness, 40, was walking her dog, Bowie, in Piedmont City park, Atlanta Georgia, when they were both stabbed to death.

Her partner, Emma Clark, became alarmed when Katie did not return home from walking Bowie, prompting her to track her phone’s location. She found both Katie and Bowie, dead.

Emma contacted 911. The call has been released.

Investigators have also released photos of people who may have been a witness or seen something they do not realize is relevant. The jogger has come forward and has been speaking with investigators.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, investigators believe that Bowie may have engaged with the killer. Bowie’s bite impressions have been taken and other forensic measures will be taken, hoping that transfer evidence will be found.

Investigators are actively working on the case and are asking for help from the public.
