On September 30, 2022, the Stockton Police Department confirmed that 5 homicides that took place in Stockton, California are connected. The homicides occurred between July 8, 2022, and September 27, 2022. All the victims were shot.

On September 28, 2022, the Stockton Police Department announced it would investigate recent homicides that occurred in the Stockton area. They were going to examine patterns they had noticed in some of the recent shootings. Two days later, they announced they have a reason to believe 5 shootings were related. They have stated there is not enough information to determine if it is a serial killer.

July 8, 2022
Around 12:31 a.m. on July 8, 2022, a 21-year-old white man was shot in the 5600 block of Kermit Lane.
August 11, 2022
Around 9:49 p.m. on August 11, 2022, a 43-year-old Hispanic man was shot in the 4900 block of West Lane
August 30, 2022
Around 6:41 a.m. on August 30, 2022, a 21-year-old Hispanic man was shot in the 800 block of E. Hammer Lane. The victim was found inside a vehicle.
September 21, 2022
Around 4:27 a.m. on September 21, 2022, 52-year-old Hispanic man was shot in the 4400 block of Manchester Ave.
September 27, 2022
Around 1:53 a.m. on September 27, 2022, a Hispanic man was shot in the 900 block of Porter Avenue.

Police have not confirmed all the victim’s identities, but NBC News has reached out and spoken with some of their families.
Paul Alexander Yaw
Paul Alexander Yaw, 21, was described by his mom, Greta Bogrow, as a “good person” according to NBC News. Paul, who had been homeless for the past 5 years, was killed on July 8, 2022. Greta told the news outlet she was estranged from her son, but would have liked the chance to reconnect with him.

Jerry “Lorenzo” Lopez
Jerry “Lorenzo” Lopez, 56, lived in Stockton since he was a child. He had 6 children, a brother, and many others who cared for him. Jerry, who was an independent contractor, had “fallen into homelessness”, according to NBC News. Jerry’s brother told the news outlet that people had offered to help Jerry, but Jerry was not the type to accept help and rather take care of himself.

Salvador Debudely Jr.
Salvador Debudely Jr, 43, was born in Stockton, California. He was married to a woman who had met while attending Franklin High School, 28 years ago. His wife, Analydia Lopez, told KCRA, that she and Salvador had rekindled their romance and had been married for 12 years. Salvador is survived by his wife, daughter, parents, and three younger brothers.
Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez
Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 21, was the victim murdered on August 30, 2022, according to KCRA. Police have not released more information about him.
Juan Cruz
Juan Cruz, 52, was the victim murdered on September 21, 2022, according to KCRA. Police have not released more information about him.
Person of Interest
The Stockton Police Department has released a picture of an individual they would like to speak with. They have not stated that this individual is the person responsible, only that they are a person of interest.
