The Disappearance of Tara Jane Sullivan

On April 18, 2023, Tara Jane Sullivan was reported missing, after police attempted to return her lost cell phone. Tara could not be located, and she has still not been heard from. 

Background

On April 17, 2023, a Good Samaritan called 911 to report they found an iPhone on Ringle Avenue in Ringle, Wisconsin. Police responded, collected the phone, and determined it belonged to Tara Jane Sullivan. 

On April 18, 2023, Police went to Tara’s home to return her cellphone. Upon arriving at Tara’s home on April 18, 2023, the police noticed that the garage door was damaged, indicating that a car might have driven through it, as reported by NamUs. Tara was not home. The police did not find any other evidence of disturbance inside the house.

Later in the day, on April 18, 2023, Tara’s white 2017 Buick Enclave was found abandoned 30 miles away from her home in Shawano County, on Old Hwy 29, south of Highway 29. The keys to the car were in the cupholder and there did not appear to be a struggle in the car. Tara’s does not have her identification, money, or credit cards. 

Description

Tara Jane Sullivan is 47 with strawberry blonde hair, though it could be a different color currently. She has green eyes, is 5’7” and weights 128lbs. According to News7, it is unknown what Tara was wearing at the time.

Investigation

Tara was officially reported missing on April 18, 2023. Investigators launched multiple ground, k9, and drone searches; none lead to more information about Tara. In a press release by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, they stated, “It remains unclear if Tara was experiencing a mental health crisis, was abducted, or left under her own will. Regardless of the reason, we hope Tara returns home safely in the end.”
