The Double Homicide of Bishop Taverner & Ray Muscat
On May 8, 2022, Ruby Taverner killed her partner Ray Muscat, 26, and her brother, Bishop Taverner. She then went to a wooded area and killed herself.
Around 3:20 a.m. on May 8, 2022, 911 operators received a call for gunshots fired. When police arrived on scene at 5901 Dixie Highway, Oakland County, Michigan, and found people deceased.
Police found Bishop Taverner, 25, with a single gunshot wound and they found Ray Muscat, 26 shot in a back bedroom.
Through their investigation, police discovered the suspect was one of the victim’s sister, Ruby Taverner, 22. She had three weapons registered in her name, one which was bought within the week of the shootings. After the shootings, she fled on foot from the house. Police started searching for her immediately.
On May 9, 2022, Ruby Taverner was found with self-inflicted gunshot wounds from the Glock 43X that she had recently purchased. Police believe the murders were premeditated, but they have not released a motive. The case is still being investigated.
