The Murder of Lacey Fletcher

Stacey Fletcher

On January 3, 2022, Lacey Fletcher, 36, was found deceased in her Louisiana home. Her parents, who failed to care for her medical condition, had left her to rot to death over the course of 12 years.

Sheila Fletcher called 911 on January 3, 2022, and told the operator her daughter stopped breathing. When police arrived at the scene, they found Lacey covered in fecal matters, maggots, insect bites; she only weighed 96 lbs. She was sitting on their couch in the home where she lived with her parents, Sheila and Clay Fletcher. The couch had a rotting hole in it from years or bodily fluids seeping into it. Lacey had “melted” on to the couch. News outlets reported that fecal matter had been shoved into her face, chest, and abdomen. Her hygiene was neglected, and her hair was badly matted and had maggots living within it.

The parents claim Lacey had extreme social anxiety since a teenager and had autism. Investigators have not confirmed what medical or mental health conditions Lacey may have had. According to news outlets. Her parents state it was her decision to stay on the couch and insisted on using the bathroom on the couch or a nearby towel. Sheila Fletcher told authorities that she did clean her daughter wounds regularly. Lacey’s bedsores went as deep as her bone in some areas.

According to authorities, the family brought Lacey to multiple doctor appointments between 2000 and 2002, and had a single appointment in 2010, which would be the last time Lacey would see a doctor. The doctor in 2010 told the Fletchers that they should bring their daughter into a hospital for treatment, which they never did.

Why on earth would you leave ur caught to die in the couch? The pictures were sad and her parents would have been kept in prison for the rest of their life. They knew their daughter was paralysed so why to on a vacation????

They let her use the bathroom on a near by towel or just go on the couch? That’s absolutely disgusting. These are NOT parents. These are monsters! No parent would ever treat their child like this. I’m at a loss for words. I feel terrible for this women!! She didn’t deserve to die like this, and then monsters getting out?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
    We gotta do better people.

Social anxiety (even extreme) and autism do NOT do this to someone. I do NOT believe she chose to sleep in excrement. Was she sedated repeatedly? There is a lot of missing information yet to be released.
